Donating to SoundAffects

THE SUSTAINABILITY OF SOUNDAFFECTS WORK.

The next major objective that SoundAffects wants to achieve is the sustainability of its work enhancing school partnerships with audio. SoundAffects project leaders are actively trying to seek funding to make sure that their work in Ghana and Sri Lanka is fully sustainable before widening their remit and introducing any new projects.

To this end SoundAffects project leaders are first hoping to return to Ghana (where they first introduced the project in 2008) in 2010 in order to hand over the recording operation in country to local broadcasters or other appropriately skilled individuals.  They believe that the formation of  these local partnerships, which will involve project leaders training these individuals and personally introducing them to all the schools involved in Ghana,  will allow the work of SoundAffects to be appropriately sustained and also keep the audio contact with schools regular and the dialogue alive and fresh.

Sound Affects
I am the flick of the switch that breaks the silence,
I am the smile on the faces of children miles apart
I am the slow understanding that comes from an exchange of views
I am the sound of a voice waiting to be heard
I am the ears straining to hear that voice
I am the difference that wants to be understood
I and I and I and I are us
From Sri Lanka to Snowdon technology rules ok
It lets Sound Affect us in the same way
The gaps between the words
The laughter on the tongue
Hard to uncrystallise on a page
Real when heard
I am the flick of the switch that breaks the silence
I am the smile on the faces of children miles apart
You may make it possible
